Face Mask Update

The City of San Antonio has issued new guidance which requires all people ages 10 years and older to wear a cloth face covering over their nose and mouth when in a public place and where it is difficult to keep six feet away from other people. This could include locations such as grocery stores, pharmacies or working in areas that involve close proximity with other coworkers. Face covering do not need to be worn when exercising outdoors; when driving alone or with others of the same household; while pumping gas or operating outdoor equipment; while in a building that requires security screening such as a bank; when consuming food or drink or when wearing a face mask poses a greater mental or physical health, safety or security risk. A cloth face covering includes homemade masks, scarves, bandannas, or handkerchiefs. The public should reserve medical grade masks and N95 respirators for first responders and healthcare workers. The public must continue practicing social distancing while outside the home and while engaging in essential activities.
